The BMP-2s were originally used mainly by the ATGM and Recon platoons in the Armoured Brigades. Later, when the Leopard 2A4 replaced the T-tanks, the BMP-2s resumed service along the German tanks in the Mechanized Battlegroups, being the main IFV in the PzJaeger companies trained at Parola.
