1.situation

day 4:
1. BW Pz-Div is in response for delay mission in our AOR since the war started. They delay us with low casualties.
They delay operation is very succesfully, they avoid direct contact and we lost a lot of time in this sector.
NATO used this time to reorganize their defense plan. It looks like NATO forces are operating very well organized in brigade strengh
in our AOR and stopped defending key points like in the HANNOVER-HILDESHEIM area.
Do not underestimate the enemy!
Our 2.coy/I.Btl/PR20 won a short meeting engagement against german panzergrenadiers. We think it was the PzGrenBtn32 part of PzBrg3.
We think they withdraw to the river LEINE to the WEST to establish a new delay/ defense line.
We suspect british tank forces in this area too.
The enemy has relatively weak artillery forces in our AOR but they the air supremacy.

b)own:
day 4:
PR20 of NVA (east german army) is attach to 19.NVA MechInfDiv and till now the reserve of the division.
19. MSD (19. MechInfDiv) reached area HILDESHEIM and protect the flank of the sovjet 46. garde tank division.
The main direction of our attack goes via HAMELN-BIELEFELD to the RUHRGEBIET.
The city of Hildesheim was surrendered without a fight from the Mayor.
MSR (MechInfRegiment) 51. and 52.MSR and other units 19. MSD bypassed HILDESHEIM.
The Division be prepared to attack in general western direction.
We are now in the main effort and the point unit. Our left neighbor is the sovjet 197. GdPR, to our right is MSR 51.
PR20, to 90% combat ready, is situated in column formation south of HILDESHEIM on line DIEKHOLZEN-SIBBESSE-ALMSTEDT.
During the last 2 hours 2nd coy had a meeting engagement against very well organized forces.
Now we have no enemy contact.

2.mission
Intention of CDR PR20:[INDENT]PR20 will attack in first echelon with I.Btn, here point of main effort, and II.Btn in general western direction and force the river
LEINE and SAALE and take AZ3. III.Btn is 2nd echelon. [/INDENT]

- take and secure GRONAU (AZ1)
- take and secure minimum 2 LEINE cross points (AZ2)
- establish bridge head over LEINE
- expand bridgehead and attack again in general western direction
- take and secure OLDENDORF, and SAALE cross points (AZ3)

II.Btn:
-protect left flank of I.Btn
-prepare to reinforce bridgehead GRONAU
-attack to line DEINSEN-MARIENHAGEN and defend this area

III.Btn:
-reserve
-after taking AZ3, attack forward in general western direction to HAMELN[/INDENT]
